Birkbeck’s Jean Monnet Chair in Parliamentary Democracy & European Integration and Centre for British Political Life are organising this public event to mark the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement. The UK and Ireland’s membership of the European Union was a cornerstone of the substance of the Good Friday Agreement which was signed on 10 April 1998. That Agreement has been profoundly impacted by the UK’s Withdrawal from the EU. This lecture will consider what the future of the Agreement might be in light of Brexit and the redefinition of relations between and within the UK and Ireland.

This event is also taking place online - visit here for details.
