Join us for this Help to Grow: Alumni event on the benefits of a four-day week for SMEs. Dr Pedro Gomes, author of 'Friday is the New Saturday', will discuss the economics benefits of a four-day week and share his first-hand experience of designing a four-day week pilot with companies in Portugal.

There will be opportunities to put your questions to Pedro and network with fellow alumni of the Help to Grow: Management programme. Tea and coffee will be provided.

A limited number of spaces are available for non-alumni. Please choose the appropriate ticket when booking your place.

Biography

Dr Pedro Gomes is an Associate Professor in Economics at Birkbeck, University of London. Previously, he spent seven years as Assistant Professor at the University Carlos III de Madrid, was a Visiting Professor at the University of Essex and held positions at the European Central Bank and the Bank of England. Pedro studied for his BSc in Economics in his hometown of Lisbon, and received his PhD from the London School of Economics in 2010. A leading researcher on public-sector employment, he has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and chapters in books. His work has been widely cited, has received awards, and has influenced policymakers.
