This taster talk will explore the programming of theatre about the AIDS crisis as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will address a number of productions which have been staged in theatres or circulated online, including The Normal Heart, Rent, Ten Plagues, in an apparent bid to help reckon with our current crisis. The session will explore how this theatre commemorates those who have died of AIDS related illnesses in the 80s and 90s, while offering perspectives to help navigate the impact of COVID-19.
