Circles of Hell (Arts Weeks 2021)

When:
Venue: Online

Live streamed from Sitges, Barcelona, in association with Museus de Sitges, Theatre North presents a new solo performance piece based on Salvador Dali’s paintings of Dante’s Inferno.

Marking the 700th anniversary of Dante’s death, Theatre North presents a new solo performance piece - a visual, physical extravaganza, with text in several languages, based on Salvador Dali’s paintings of Dante’s Inferno. This performance is live streamed from Sitges, Barcelona, in association with Museus de Sitges. As Dante and Virgil journey through the nine Circles of Hell they are joined by a ‘sodomite’ with a very different perspective. Dante’s extraordinary vision and Dali’s characteristically surreal images are the starting point for an explicity bold, questioning work which leaves us staring in to the depths of Hell itself.

Martin Lewton (Writer/Performer) is an award winning actor and writer whose work has been toured internationally.
