Biography

Aran Jones looks much younger than 52, was brought up in Wales, England, Germany, Portugal, Sri Lanka and Malaysia, attended just enough lectures to gain a degree in English literature from Aberystwyth, and then worked in Zimbabwe and Dubai.

He came home to Wales in the year 2000, learnt Welsh (after failing to learn every other language he'd tried), meddled with language activism and e-Government at a time when no-one, including his line manager, knew what e-Government was, and launched an online Welsh course in 2009.

SaySomethinginWelsh is now one of the most popular ways to learn Welsh, officially partnered with the government-funded National Centre for Welsh for Adults, and used for coaching celebrities on TV and radio.

SaySomethingin.com Ltd is working on a range of new languages and partnerships, with an eye on the global market for English. Aran regularly attempts to claim as much credit as possible for this sequence of rather surprising events.
