At our first Higher Technical Education Practitioner Group meeting of the new academic year, chaired by James Ward, Vice Principal for Higher Education at Morley College London, we will be exploring the latest Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ) news, the key findings from the Lifelong Education Institute and Pearson’s “The Missing Middle: Unlocking the growth potential of higher technical qualifications” report and hear from a university partner about their experience of developing and delivering Level 4 and 5 provision.

On the 7th, Rebecca Mameli, Senior Strategic Lead at Pearson, will be providing an update on the very latest HTQ news and developments. Rebecca will also update the group on the recent Missing Middle publication, including key findings and recommendations, followed by Q+A and group discussion.

This will be followed by a round table update where partners will have an opportunity to share news and updates from their own institutions, including their level 4 and 5 offer for 2026-27 and recruitment to date.

We will then hear from Sharon Juty, Deputy Head of Pathways and Educational Partnerships, University of Greenwich, on their level 4 & 5 offer, including challenges, opportunities involved and plans for the future.

The group is aimed at HE in FE colleagues and university staff involved in Level 4 and 5 provision, but anyone with an interest in higher technical education and finding out more about the latest developments is very welcome to attend.

Please note this meeting is for Linking London Partners only.
