At our first T Level Practitioner Group meeting of the new academic year, chaired by Sultan Soukani, Assistant Principal, at HRUC, we be reflecting on:
• The summer T Level results & recruitment for 2026-27
• Approaches to employer engagement to increase industry placement opportunities
• The latest V Level developments
• The current picture on HE entry requirements for 2027/28 entry
At the meeting, David Pautsch, Product Manager – Digital and Business Support Services. Vocational Qualifications, Enterprise Learning and Skills: Pearson, will be taking us through the latest T Level news including headlines from the summer results series. HE will also outline what we know so far about V Level developments as the sector prepares for first delivery in 2027-28.
Our round table update will follow, which will provide an opportunity for our college and university partners to share news, including recruitment for 2026.27 and current plans for 2027/28, as well as HE admissions an outreach provision.
This will be followed by a group discussion item focusing on working with employers, including approaches to strengthening collaborative engagement with employers across providers and the potential benefits of setting up a small employer advisory group to support partners and inform future priorities.
And finally, with continued uncertainty and some concerns about universities acceptance of T Level applicants, colleagues at Linking London will share the headlines from our mapping of T Level entry requirements for 16 HE subject areas at over 50 universities for 2027 entry, including comparisons with our 2026 mapping piece.
This practitioner group provides a unique opportunity to bring together our colleges, schools, universities, awarding body partners and key stakeholders, to explore T Level developments and explore areas for collaboration, and is aimed at both colleagues engaged in T Levels as well as anyone with an interest in finding out more about the post 16 qualifications landscape.
