Understanding Referencing and Using Reference Managers

In this session we will look at the principles of academic referencing, creating accurate citations and the importance of organising and managing research material.
The second part of this session will consider some of the advantages of using reference management software, and a demonstration of using Zotero for collecting and organising your sources, as well as how to generate references and citations for use in your own writing.
We will follow the Zotero Workbook found in the library moodle module. If you would like to follow along with the Zotero demonstration, we would recommend installing it before the session to save time and ensure you don't have any technical difficulties with using it.
