Why does where you live impact your health? - BSc Public Health Degree Taster
An engaging one-hour session with Dr Jenelle Clarke exploring how where we live affects health and challenges participants to design healthier communities followed by a tour of our Birkbeck campus.
From air pollution to fast food and green space, the places we live have a powerful impact on our health. In this interactive session, you will explore how environments shape everything from child development to quality of life in older adulthood. We will also consider issues of health inequality, including the ‘postcode lottery’ of health and care. Through stepping into the role of a public health professional, you will redesign a community for better health.
