'The Digital Frontline: Breaking and Building the Modern Web'
Join us at Birkbeck, University of London for an engaging BSc Computer Science with Cybersecurity taster session, led by Dr Keith Mannock, where you’ll explore how security specialists uncover vulnerabilities and design systems that can withstand real-world threats.
The visit begins with a 90-minute session that takes you inside the architecture of the internet. You’ll follow the journey of a data packet across the globe, examine the protocols that keep information secure, and gain insight into the contest between security researchers and malicious actors.
You’ll then tour Birkbeck’s Immersive Learning Lab, where you can experience the latest VR and AR technologies, before finishing with a student-led tour of our facilities and Bloomsbury campus – a great opportunity to ask questions and get a sense of student life at Birkbeck.
Cybersecurity now underpins everything from global finance to personal privacy, and this taster offers an introduction to the research-led teaching at the heart of Birkbeck’s BSc Computer Science with Cybersecurity, and how it prepares you for careers across this rapidly expanding field.
