Mary Morgan, PhD researcher, artist, writer, and founder of Bloody Mary Film Club, brings her cult screening series home to Birkbeck for the Social Sciences Festival.
Bloody Mary Film Club is dedicated to avenging women on screen — the violent, the vengeful, the righteously furious. Mary's doctoral research, titled 'I Want Revenge', asks why rape-revenge cinema resonates so deeply with audiences, and explores how film offers victims of sexual assault something the world rarely does: the imaginative space to experience justice, reclaim narrative, and fantasies of revenge.
