'Code in Motion: Engineering the Autonomous Future'
Behind these breakthroughs lies the powerful combination of intelligent software and cutting-edge engineering.
Join us at Birkbeck, University of London for an immersive BSc Computer Science taster session, led by Dr Keith Mannock, where you’ll step beyond the screen into the physical world of robotics.
The visit begins with a 90-minute taster exploring how Control Theory and Computer Vision enable machines to sense, interpret, and respond to their surroundings, and why working with real-world systems demands a different mindset from traditional programming.
The visit continues with a tour of Birkbeck’s Immersive Learning Lab with the latest VR and AR technologies, and finishes with a student-led campus tour of Birkbeck’s facilities and our Bloomsbury campus - a great chance to ask questions and get a feel for student life at Birkbeck.
Whether you’re fascinated by autonomous systems or curious about how software shapes the world around us, this taster offers a glimpse into the research-led teaching at the heart of Birkbeck’s BSc Computer Science programme and how it equips you to pursue exciting careers across the technology sector. The course offers both daytime and evening teaching, giving you the flexibility to study in a way that fits your life.
