This panel event brings together alumni working across sustainability-focused careers to explore how diverse academic backgrounds can lead into various roles across the sector. The session will highlight non-linear career pathways and the growing integration of sustainability into professional practice.

Helen (MSc Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability)
Helen Dobson is the Sustainability Lead and Educational Programme Manager for one of the historic Livery Companies of London. Having graduated from an MSc in Corporate Governance and Sustainability in 2024 Helen is working to embed sustainable practices across her organisation and the wider jewellery industry with a particular focus on embedding sustainability into the curriculum; working towards net zero within the confines of a listed building; and empowering stakeholders to make change for themselves.
Fiona (MSc Bio-Business)
Fiona Ticho is a Project Manager at North Highland, where she supports digital transformation across R&D at top pharmaceutical companies.
Her work sits at the intersection of science, data, and strategy, helping organizations prioritize high impact innovation and drive measurable outcomes. Fiona holds an MSc in Bio-Business from Birkbeck, University of London and a BSc in Biology from the University of San Francisco. With experience spanning clinical healthcare and pharmaceutical consulting, she brings a systems-level perspective on how science, technology, and cross-sector collaboration can advance more sustainable and resilient healthcare ecosystems.
The session will begin with a panel discussion framed as a thought piece on sustainability in practice examining how funding, partnerships, and professional pathways intersect. This event aims to showcase the breadth of sustainability-related careers open to graduates from diverse academic and professional backgrounds and highlight how sustainability can be embedded across sectors
