This Conference aims to bring together Black early career researchers with an interest in tackling issues related to the health and well-being of Black communities. It provides a space for these researchers to share ideas, form collaborations and obtain advice and guidance on future career projections whilst engaging in work of relevance to Black community lives.

We are delighted that Dr Jessica Jones Neilsen of City St George’s, University of London will be our opening keynote speaker. Professor Jessica Jones Nielsen is the Assistant Vice-President for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) at City St George’s, University of London, and a Professor in Psychology. With over a decade of strategic leadership experience, Professor Jones Nielsen has an impressive track record in driving successful strategic change and enhancing outcomes.

There will also be a panel discussion featuring established scholars, who will reflect on their academic journeys, discuss what drew them to this field, and share insights into their current research in addition to the challenges and opportunities faced by Black researchers seeking to work in this area. The discussion will conclude with a Q & A.
