Venue: Online

Do you want to develop your academic English and academic communication skills? Do you find it challenging adapting to the educational requirements in the UK as an international student? Join our online sessions via Teams, usually on Fridays, 12PM-2PM, that support students for whom English is an additional language and need to develop their confidence in communicating in a variety of academic contexts.

We will explore and discuss key features in academic writing, developing arguments, critical reading and writing and communication skills in a variety of academic contexts. Come along to these highly supportive and friendly sessions and please feel free to ask relevant questions you may have.

Please log into Teams using your Birkbeck student log in details first.

Below are the dates and links to book onto each online session:

There are also two in-person, on-campus workshops being offered as compressed, intensive sessions of the above series.

  • Academic English Intensive Saturday Workshop: Part 2 - 28 November (Saturday), 11am-2pm - view and book here
