Join us for From Planet to Plate, a 1.5-hour lunchtime talk and tasting event designed around the principles and practice of zero-waste food. Discover how what we buy, prepare, cook, and eat can meaningfully reduce our environmental footprint, with positive results for the planet and for you.
This session brings together expert knowledge from an academic speaker, who will explain the environmental impact of food systems on the planet and the importance of zero-waste food behaviours, followed by insights and ideas for managing food waste provided by a zero-waste food champion. The Birkbeck Catering Team will highlight the innovative sustainability work happening here at the College.
You will walk away with fresh perspectives on food systems and their impact on the planet, as well as ideas for reducing food waste. This event will include a selection of delicious tastings that showcase planet-friendly food.
