The purpose of this writing workshop is to build knowledge and confidence using a combination of task-based and group work in a friendly and supportive environment.

We will be covering the following topics:

  • Writing: how do I write academically in Criminology?
  • Referencing: how do I reference in Criminology? Why is it important?
  • AI: What are LLMs and why shouldn't I use them?
  • We will also have a segment dedicated to library support

By the end of this workshop, you should:

  • Have developed a better understanding of academic styles and language
  • Feel more confident in writing academically
  • Have a better understanding of the use of AI in academic settings
  • Understand how to use Birkbeck's library efficiently for research

The event takes place twice, in-person and online - this listing is for the online only session.
