CIMR Debates in Public Policy: The Role of Trust in Shaping Employee Experiences with Generative AI
When:
—
Venue:
Birkbeck Central
In the past couple of years, organizations have introduced generative AI at work by adopting licensed applications, developing their own solutions, alongside establishing new governance structures and policies.
Today’s CIMR debate focuses on what these changes mean for employees. Does access to generative AI help us work more effectively and feel more motivated, or does it increase pressure, leaving us stretched and less effective in our contributions?
As CIMR researchers, we see trust as central to this question. The extent to which employees trust or distrust generative AI shapes how willing they are to rely on it in their tasks. Trust can turn AI into a valued aid that enhances performance, while distrust can make its use feel burdensome or overwhelming.
We would like to explore the organizational factors that foster trust, and how these dynamics influence employee wellbeing at work.
