The DfE’s Transition Plan following the post-16 level 3 and below pathways consultation represents “a once-in-a-generation shift in vocational education, transforming the vocational landscape for millions of 16 to 19-year-olds”.
At our third T Level Practitioner Group meeting of the academic year, chaired by Sultan Soukani, Assistant Principal, at HRUC, we be looking in detail then at what we know so far regarding DfE’s plans for V Levels, due to launch in 2027, as well as the latest T Level developments.
Colleagues will hear from Suzanne Hall, Head of Sector Development at Pearson who will be outlining the key headlines from the DfE’s Transition Plan, including next steps, followed by group discussion on preparations ahead of 2027.
Following updates from Linking London and the Education and Training Foundation, colleagues will have the opportunity to share reflections on the academic year to date and plans for 2026-27.
The changes to the post 16 education landscape will also impact our HE providers, who will be receiving applications from V Level students from September 2028. On the 7th we will also be hearing from colleagues from the DfE who will be outlining their work with HE providers to both improve progression on to HE from T Levels, as well as support the sector prepare for the introduction of V Levels.
This practitioner group provides a unique opportunity to bring together our colleges, schools, universities, awarding body partners and key stakeholders, to explore T Level developments and explore areas for collaboration, and is aimed at both colleagues engaged in T Levels as well as anyone with an interest in finding out more about this new qualification.
