At our second Linking London IAG Practitioner Group meeting of 2025/26, aimed at careers advisers, student support staff, tutors/teachers and university outreach and admissions staff, we will be finding out about the work of Screen Skills, including the Discover programmes for school and college students, the latest developments at UCAS, and changes to HE Finance for 26-27 onwards.
Attendees will be hearing from Bonnie Smith, Communications Manager for Discover Creative Careers, who will be providing an outline of the work of ScreenSkills, the industry endorsed skills body for the screen sector, before looking in detail at their Discover programme, aimed at inspiring and informing 11–18-year-olds about the types of job roles and pathways available across the entire creative industries.
Our partner round-up will follow, during which we will invite our school and college partners to share reflections on learners’ intentions after completing Level 3 courses, including any challenges, following the main UCAS deadline for 2026 entry. We will also hear from our university colleagues about their outreach offers for the spring and summer terms. Linking London will also be providing a short update on recent resources and research developed for the partnership, and what’s in the pipeline.
After a short comfort break, we will be hearing from Elizabeth Lloyd, Adviser Lead – Further Education Colleges, on her new role, plus the latest UCAS news and developments, including the headlines from the end of cycle data for 2025 and what we know so far for 2026 applications.
And finally, Ben Rutter, from the Student Loans Company, will be updating the group on the latest HE Finance news, including some significant changes for 2026 entry, including on HE Tuition fees, HE maintenance and the looming introduction of the Lifelong Learning Entitlement.
Meetings are aimed at Careers Advisers, Teachers and University Outreach & Admissions Staff but are open to any staff at partner institutions who are interested in IAG relating to HE progression.
Please note this event is for Linking London Partners only.
