This session will provide an overview of library resources that will be most useful to natural sciences students. Topics covered in this session include:

  • How to search the library catalogue for specific subjects and topics that are relevant.
  • An introduction to the databases relevant to the natural sciences such as Scopus (and more).
  • Where to go for more support

This session has been designed for students at all levels of study, including foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate and research students. This will mostly be useful to students who are brand new to biological, earth, and planetarty sciences at Birkbeck and don't have any experience of which databases or platforms to use, but may also be useful to returning students who want a refresher or simply interested in receiving some tips from their subject support librarian.
