This event aims to provide an accessible introduction to the complexities of academic publishing in the Humanities and Social Sciences. Opening with a panel discussion featuring Birkbeck academics, it will cover topics such as types of publication (e.g. article, chapter, monograph, edited collection); identification of a suitable publisher; disciplinary conventions (e.g. in relation to article v book); the peer review & publication process.
There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions. The evening closes with a drinks reception, a chance to meet other Birkbeck PhD students and share knowledge and experience.
