At our third HE in FE Practitioner Group Meeting of this academic year, chaired by James Ward, Vice Principal for Higher Education at Morley College London, we will be hearing from Professor Elizabeth Cleaver, UVAC Associate, who will sharing key findings from the recent UVAC Paper: “Beyond apprenticeships: decoding and progressing technical education opportunities in England from Levels 2 to 5”, which Liz co-authored. This fascinating report looks back over past technical developments, challenges and lessons learned, including learner and employer demand, and ends with a series of key recommendations covering qualifications at level 2-5. Group discussion will follow, to explore how the findings can inform future HE in FE developments at our partner colleges.
Following a round table update, we will then be hearing from Jitinder Hans Deputy Group Director: Higher Education at New City College (NCC). Jitinder will be outlining NCC’s developing HE offer, the journey to where they are now, including challenges and opportunities and plans going forward.
And finally, Linking London staff will be sharing the key findings from our unique mapping of London colleges level 4 and 5 offer, including comparisons from our last piece, to track trends over time. We will also be sharing initial results from a similar piece, focussing on the Level 4 and 5 offer at London universities, highlighting some of the issues in terms of the visibility of the offerings for potential HE learners.
The meeting will be useful for partners keen to stay up to date and share good practice related to HE in FE. During the session, colleagues will have a chance to share news from their respective institutions, raise any questions or concerns, and suggest themes for future HE in FE practitioner group meetings.
These meetings are aimed at both HE in FE staff, as well as anyone with an interest in finding out more about the latest developments in the level 4 and 5 and HTQ space.
Please note this meeting is for Linking London Partners only.
