This short talk and Q&A will give you a tour of study strategies and tools that can be of help to students with disabilities.
We’ll be covering study tools such as:
· Text-to-speech software
· Notetaking software
· Mindmapping software
· Speech-to-text software
There are also a number of tools available within Birkbeck platforms, such as Sensus Access and ReciteMe, which many students find invaluable.
We’ll take a super quick look at strategies for managing large amounts of reading and writing, including Pomodoro Technique, and skimming and scanning techniques for reading. We will also signpost you to resources and other opportunities to learn more about these strategies and tools.
