Come and join us for our Geographic Data Science Offer Holder afternoon.

Our Geographic Data Science programme is a part of the School of Social Sciences.

You will have the opportunity to chat with our staff Dr Roberto Murcio and find out more about the programme.

Dr Roberto Murcio’s research focuses on the development and application of geospatial models in the context of urban analytics. He studies innovative methods to explore how current Data Science and Machine Learning techniques can help us understand the underlying process behind different urban aspects, like commuting patterns and transport inequality.

Geographic data science provides technical and transferable skills in manipulating and analysing spatial data about natural and human phenomena with cutting-edge tools and technologies.

Geospatial Artificial Intelligence (GeoAI) is an emerging interdisciplinary field that touches different disciplines such as Geography, Environmental studies, computer sciences, and public health. This teaser lecture will review the current state of the art in GeoAI and discuss the huge challenges that these methods face when presented with geographic data.

Birkbeck teaching takes place in the evening, leaving you free to study, volunteer or explore London during the day.

This event will be online.
