In this talk Professor Elisa Raffaella Ferre will discuss the 'Psychology of Spaceflight: What Happens to Human Brain and Behaviour in Space?'
Human missions to Mars and the Moon along with commercial ventures for space travel, are fast becoming a reality. However, space is an extremely hostile environment for human health. Are we ready to take on the challenges posed by this new age of space travel?
Understanding the impact of spaceflight on the human body and brain has never been more important. Elisa will discuss her findings on how behaviour changes during spaceflight. She will bring 'out of this world' research down to earth.
Elisa is a cognitive neuroscientist at Birkbeck University of London, with a passion for bringing her research to communities outside of academia. In this capacity, she has worked with different entities, including the European Space Agency (ESA) and the United Nations (UN), and featured in news outlets such as the BBC and the New Scientist.
Join us at St Pancras and Somers Town Living Centre, 2 Ossulston Street, London, NW1 1DF.
