Legal Practice Conversations provide an opportunity to meet judges, solicitors and barristers and get first-hand insight into how the law works in practice. At each event, the invited speakers discuss one or two of their reported cases and offer advice to students looking to pursue a law career.

Sir Richard Meade is a High Court Judge and the Judge in charge of the Patents Court and Intellectual Property. He was called to the bar in 1991 and practised IP law from 8 New Square chambers and appeared before the European Court of Justice and the European Parent Office. He was appointed QC in 2010 and appointed deputy High Court judge in 2011. He jointly edited Kerly's Law of Trade Marks and Trade Names from the thirteenth edition in 2001 to the fourteenth edition in 2005.
