Shut up and write!
When:
—
Venue:
Birkbeck Main Building, Malet Street
This 'Shut Up and Write' session offers Birkbeck research students the chance to start the week with a focus on getting some writing done. The format and aims are based on those described in the Thesis Whisperer blog and take the form of a series of focussed 25 minute writing sessions, each followed by a brief 5 minute break.
During the writing sessions you will work in silence while in the company of other attendees. You will be invited to switch off your phone and to avoid any temptation to do anything except for writing.
The event can be attended in-person or online. We think that there are benefits to attending in-person - not least the social and networking opportunities - but you may find it more convenient to join online. Timings will be managed through a Teams link operated by the BGRS.

What should you bring?
You should any piece of work that you would like to focus on, as well as your chosen means of writing, whether it is on a laptop or on paper. Please note that no food is allowed in the library.
