The Poetics of Fragility is a kaleidoscopic exploration through story, poetry & performance of the texture, vitality & aesthetics of fragility. It interweaves stories of bodily frailty with optical vignettes of nature's delicacy to reclaim fragility as intrinsic to existence, not something to be bemoaned or overcome. The film features scholar-activist Angela Davis, playwright Cherrie Moraga, Nora Cortiñas founding member of Madres de Plaza de Mayo, among others. Conceived as a videocontemplation the film is part of transmedia project including artist book & website; a triadic experiment in developing forms for social inquiry with a philosophical impulse. Screening followed by panel discussion.
