RegisterCourse Overview
The SME Masterclass: Strategic Business Finance enables small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) leaders to understand and interpret key financial information to support business decision-making. You will gain an understanding of core financial concepts within an organisation and understand how to make financial decisions in areas such as investments and cash flow management. Understanding these concepts and accounting principles will enable you to report on and discuss financial situations with clarity and confidence.
The course will cover key topics, specific to the operations of SMEs, including:
- how to read a profit and loss statement
- how to interpret and manage cash flow
- understanding balance sheets
- interpreting and using financial ratios.
During the session, you will also undertake a simple spreadsheet exercise to practise producing pro forma financial statements, giving you the knowledge to then produce these within the organisation.
The SME Masterclass: Strategic Business Finance is well suited to those in managerial or leadership positions in SMEs wishing to develop their confidence and decision-making skills when it comes to finances in the business. You do not require a prior knowledge of finance to undertake this course, as it is designed to provide a foundational understanding of key concepts within one session. You will learn through a blend of presentations, exercises and discussion.
