Course Overview

The SME Masterclass: Becoming an Effective Change Leader will provide you with comprehensive guidance on how to effectively handle and lead change within your organisation. By exploring theories and models for change management, you will become more confident in the tools you can use to mitigate resistance and bottlenecks throughout the change management process.

The course will cover key elements of change management, such as:

  • Understanding drivers of change
  • Managing push back from stakeholders
  • How to engage your employees for a positive working environment
  • Developing your skills and mindset effective change leadership.

You will be given the time to reflect on your current position and where you wish to be as an organisation. Understanding how to engage employees at an early stage in the process will enable you to create a positive work environment which allows the organisation to work collectively towards joint ambitions.

The SME Masterclass: Becoming an Effective Change Leader is well suited for SME leaders in positions of influence within the organisation, looking for guidance and structure when developing a change management strategy for business growth or improvement. By the end of the course, you will have the tools available to engage your organisation and deliver your objectives.

As a learner on this course, you will study alongside fellow professionals wishing to enhance their knowledge in the subject area, giving you the opportunity to make connections with like-minded colleagues and network.

You will receive a Birkbeck certificate of participation upon completion of the course.

This course is non-credit bearing, so carries no credit points.

Entry Requirements

Most of our short courses have no formal entry requirements and are open to all students.

This short course has no prerequisites.

As part of the registration process, you may be required to submit a copy of a suitable form of ID.

International students who wish to come to the UK to study a short course can apply for a Visitor visa. Please note that it is not possible to obtain a Student visa to study a short course.
