Module description

This module aims to encourage critical thinking around research methodologies. You will undertake an in-depth and critical review of the methodology you plan to apply to your research project and develop a clear justification for your choice of methodology.

Your target review area must be agreed with the module coordinator before the end of the seventh week of autumn term.

Learning objectives

By the end of this module, you will:

  • understand the distinction between research methods and methodologies
  • have demonstrated the methodology vs. the methods you are using for your own research
  • have an in-depth and critical understanding of your chosen methodology.
