The module aims to deepen your knowledge on methods and tools used in memory research, teach you about four contemporary debates and enhance your presentation skills.

• Methods and techniques in memory research
• Does short-term memory exist?
• What is measured with complex span tasks?
• Can we inhibit our memories?
• Where do false memories come from?

By the end of this module, you should be able to:

• provide a balanced account of the memory debates
• think critically about statements about memory
• construct arguments that are grounded in a deeper knowledge of memory research
• develop a research proposal to investigate one memory debate.
