Module description

This module offers a practical introduction to journalism as well as an overview of the German print media. We will study the different genres of journalism and their specific form, content, register and style. You will be given an opportunity to practise writing articles in German. We will examine how newspapers gather, select, edit and present information and how the editorial staff of a newspaper is organised. The economic and political influences on the print media will be discussed.

The module is taught entirely in German and you will produce written homework in German every week.
