Intermediate Latin

• Credit value: 30 credits at Level 5
• Prerequisite: Beginners' Latin or equivalent (Latin to GCSE standard)

This course aims to develop your knowledge of Latin grammar and widen their vocabulary, enabling you to master regular syntactical constructions and read standard Latin texts. The course covers sections 4A-5G of Jones and Sidwell’s Reading Latin.

By the end of the course, you should be able to understand all syntactical constructions covered in these units and demonstrate your ability by translating from Latin into English and from English into Latin. In addition to the coursebook work, you will practice reading and translating unadapted Latin texts at sight.
