Mathematics: Part 1 of 3

Overview

  • Credit value: 15 credits at Level 4

Module description

The aim of the first mathematics module is to prepare you for the advanced topics of differentiation and integration of a range of mathematical functions covered in the two later modules. By the end of this module, you should have gained confidence in manipulating algebraic expressions and have an understanding of the theory of quadratic equations, surds and indices, including fractional indices, and co-ordinate geometry. Finally, an introduction to trigonometric equations and Pythagorean identities will lay the foundations for more advanced applications in Part 2.
