Module description

This module will examine how change management theory can inform and support change management practice whilst carrying out organisational change. Wherever possible, we will use live change issues as the context for testing out the value of theory and will examine a range of change management and consulting tools and techniques alongside academic concepts and frameworks in these cases and other case studies to evaluate their impact. The overall aim is to give both experienced and less experienced students direct access to real change problems and issues and develop their confidence and ability to provide practical solutions informed by literature and research.

Learning objectives

  • apply and critically evaluate some of the key concepts and ideas of change management
  • understand how change impacts on organisations
  • diagnose and help facilitate change through the use of appropriate consulting and change tools and techniques.
