  • Assessment: a 15-minute collaborative group presentation (0%), a 1000-word research report (50%) and a 2000-word critical essay (50%). You must also attend seven out of 11 sessions as a minimum attendance requirement.

Module description

This module immerses you in the reality of self-starting in the cultural industries today. In a broad range of contexts, you will be encouraged to think through both conceptual and practical problems in developing your own ideas for freelance and entrepreneurial careers in arts or media. You will have the opportunity to conduct market research in lieu of developing a robust business plan or funding proposal and receive feedback from a panel of industry experts and practitioners.
