MA Project: Creative and Critical Writing

• Credit value: 60 credits at Level 7

• Assessment: either a 7500-word critical essay and 7500-word piece of creative writing, or a hybrid, creative-critical piece of 15,000 words (100%)

This project provides the opportunity to unite your creative and critical skills through the completion of a cohesive piece of writing. The project is either made up of two interconnected elements - a critical essay and a piece of creative writing - or it blends the two elements into a whole.

By the end of this module, you will have:

• consolidated and developed the creative and critical writing skills you have acquired through the other modules
• planned, researched and structured an argument in concert with the craft of writing 
• developed to a professional level a creative-critical piece of writing
• demonstrated a persuasive connection between the creative and critical elements of your dissertation.
