Independent Reading Portfolio: Critical Reflection

• Credit value: 15 credits at Level 6

• Assessment: a 2500-word essay (100%)

In this module you will apply to your own work the critical reading and analytical skills that you have acquired thus far, specifically to your extended writing project. You will be required to write an essay reflecting on the processes and methodologies you employed to complete your extended writing project.

In addition, you will be asked to consider your intentions for the piece and how far you feel you succeeded in realising these, to identify your influences and to situate your project within a literary tradition, whether a widely recognised one or one you have yourself identified: a sort of literary genealogy for your own work.
