Overview
This Organisational Governance, Ethics and Sustainability: The Essentials short course provides you with a comprehensive overview of organisational governance, ethics and sustainability in modern organisations and the ways they relate and interact. As an aspiring or current business leader, the course will support you with the skills to navigate corporate responsibility, governance frameworks and ethical decision-making.
The course will introduce:
- the meaning and importance of organisational governance
- the relationship between governance, ethics and the law
- the socio-economic and legal environments that shape organisational governance
- stakeholder perspectives to organisational governance and ethics
- the role of institutional accountability in public governance.
Throughout the Organisational Governance, Ethics and Sustainability: The Essentials course, you will look at global case studies and key frameworks to support your learning. By the end of the course, you will understand how to lead organisations ethically and sustainably, by balancing business performance with social responsibility.
You will develop a greater understanding of the ways you can apply these concepts and theories in practice in your professional role, and lead meaningful change.
As a learner on this course, you will study alongside fellow professionals wishing to enhance their knowledge in the subject area, giving you the opportunity to make connections with like-minded colleagues and network.
You will receive a Birkbeck certificate of participation upon completion of the course.
This course is non-credit bearing, so carries no credit points.

This short course has no prerequisites.
As part of the enrolment process, you may be required to submit a copy of a suitable form of ID.
International students who wish to come to the UK to study a short course can apply for a Visitor visa. Please note that it is not possible to obtain a Student visa to study a short course.
