Application process

Applying for the in-person Summer School

Applications for the 2022 Summer School (in-person programme) close on 18 March 2022.

Please note, we are monitoring the situation with the global pandemic carefully. If the situation deteriorates we will revert to either a hybrid Summer School or an online Summer School for 2022 with a reduced fee. We hope to be able to make a decision about this at the time of the selection panel meeting in late March which will be communicated to you if your application is successful. However, we reserve the right to make further changes after this date if required.

Applications have three different fee levels:

  • Standard fee - £950
  • Birkbeck alumni - £825
  • Birkbeck staff and students, and students currently studying at any formal educational institution - £750
  • CTSS alumni - £750

Bursaries

As shown on the application form, we are able to offer three BIH bursaries to Birkbeck students and one bursary to an international student.

In addition, the Open Society University Network have generously provided ten full bursaries (which also pay for the fee, travel and accommodation) for exceptional students from all OSUN-participation institutions (please see a full list of OSUN Member Institutions). Our funders especially welcome applications from the following Institutions: UniAndes, BCB, Bard, AUCA, AQB, Wits, AUBG, Brac, and CEU.

We are able to offer some fee waivers in specific circumstances.
