Jobs and micro-placements

We connect students and recent graduates with a range of employers, allowing you to gain valuable workplace experience during the day while studying in the evening. We support businesses by helping them to advertise vacancies, raise their profile on campus and meet outstanding candidates.

Handshake for students

Handshake is a one-stop platform for students and graduates to apply for jobs and micro-placements, sign up for events, access career resources, book one-to-one advice appointments, network with employers and lots more.

Micro-placements for students

Our Birkbeck Micro-placements Programme aims to support and enhance the career development of students and recent graduates.

Micro-placements are work projects designed to give you professional work experience and develop your careers skills while you study. In return, the micro-placements meet a business need for the organisations hosting them. We work with a range of UK employers, across multiple sectors, to provide exciting and valuable opportunities to Birkbeck students and recent graduates.

To view current micro-placements head over to Handshake.
