Birkbeck has a strong tradition in interdisciplinary gender and sexuality studies, and encourages students to think in innovative and critical ways about the topics they are investigating. Your study can take a wide variety of forms and may cover themes from across the social sciences, arts and humanities.

Our students benefit from being part of a vibrant research environment including the Birkbeck Gender and Sexuality (BiGS) research group which includes internationally renowned scholars and a programme of events and talks.

Birkbeck welcomes record number of Chevening scholars

Chevening scholarships are the UK’s international awards scheme, aimed at developing future global leaders. This year, 30 students from 21 countries join Birkbeck on the scheme.
