Why study these courses?
If you have not been in education for some time or want to improve your qualifications before starting a degree course, our higher education introductory studies courses will help you gain the knowledge and skills you need.
These flexible awards will equip you with a range of tools and strategies which will help you define and advance your career and educational aims. You will be encouraged to draw on your experiences in the workplace and in education to plan, review and research with the aim of getting the most out of work and study.
On successfully completing an introductory studies course, many students choose to continue their studies at degree level either at Birkbeck or another university, or enter into professional training.
