Funding

Grants are available to support engagement projects. If you are making a grant application, or you want to discuss the engagement parts of a research grant application, contact the Public Engagement Team for help.  

UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) seed funding 

  • Birkbeck has been awarded UKRI funding to build on existing engagement initiatives and to enrich our culture of engagement. 
  • As part of this project, seed funding of up to £2500 is available to enable researchers to develop and deliver projects that engage people outside of academia with their research. This extends the existing ISSF Engagement Seed Funding provision to include arts, law, humanities and social sciences. 
  • Deadline: 
    • Deadline for applications: midnight on Sunday 17 February 2019. 
    • Applications will be reviewed by the Public Engagement and Research Impact Committee on 28 February 2019. 
    • Successful candidates will be notified as soon as possible.  
    • Reports about the project must be submitted after the completion of the award (guidance will follow for successful applicants).
  • Awarded funding must be spent by 30 September 2019
