The organisation of internal reviews of taught and research programmes of study, and all related processes and arrangements.
The coordination of annual programme reports on all degree programmes and their scrutiny by the Teaching and Quality Enhancement Committee.
The provision of advice to Departments, Schools and providers of interdisciplinary programmes on matters related to Birkbeck's "management of the security of the academic standards of its awards and of the quality of the learning opportunities it provides to enable students to achieve those standards" (QAA's Handbook for Institutional audit: England and Northern Ireland, 2009) This includes the provision of advice relating to engagement with the QAA Subject benchmark statements, Framework for Higher Education Qualifications (FHEQ) (external site) and Code of Practice (external site) as well as the Quality Strategy, College's Quality Assurance/Enhancement Code of Practice, Postgraduate training and research for the MPhil and PhD degrees: College Code of Practice and system of student feedback.
