Welcome

The Quality Enhancement and Validation section of Registry Services at Birkbeck, is responsible for co-ordinating and ensuring the effectiveness of the College's internal quality assurance and enhancement structures and mechanisms.

Birkbeck's academic quality assurance procedures operate in four principal areas at all levels of the institution. These processes are principally managed and overseen by the Teaching and Quality Enhancement Committee and are continually reviewed and updated in the light of experience and in accordance with national requirements.

Quality Enhancement and Validation is responsible for coordinating these activities whilst the Academic Board has overall responsibility for Quality Assurance and Enhancement matters.

The Quality Assurance and Enhancement/Learning and Teaching Requirements and Teaching and Quality Enhancement Timetable for 2009/2010 provide Departments and Schools with the overall requirements and dates of key events taking place during the 2009/2010 academic session.

An overview of the external and internal context for quality assurance can be found in the PowerPoint presentation 'QA - the Birkbeck Context'.
