New lectureship opportunities

Two positions are available within the Department to teach on our master's programmes

The Department of Psychosocial Studies is currently looking to recruit two new members of staff to teach in the 2016/17 academic year.

Lecturer in Psychosocial Studies/Sociology

We are looking for a temporary Lecturer in Psychosocial Studies/ Sociology. The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching on the MA Psychosocial Studies; specifically to coordinate and maintain the module ‘Sites and Theories of the Psychosocial’ and design and teach an Option Module related to their research interests.

The post is open to early career applicants who will have ideally completed or be near to completion of their PhD in Psychosocial Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, Gender Studies or a related discipline. The successful candidate will have a developing research career and good knowledge of psychosocial studies, sociology, and qualitative research methodologies.

Salary: Grade 7 of the College's London Pay Scale which is £36,150 rising to £41,318 per annum.

Associate Lecturer: MA Culture, Diaspora, Ethnicity

We are looking for a part-time temporary Associate Lecturer to teach on our MA Culture, Diaspora, Ethnicity programme. This includes contributing to the 'Independent Research Module' in the autumn and 'Culture, Community, Identity' in the spring, and running dissertation workshops in the summer.

Successful applicants are likely to be those close to completing or already completed a PhD in Cultural and Postcolonial Studies, Psychosocial Studies, Sociology or a related field. Previous teaching experience and prior experience in a similar role is desirable, ideally working with adult students within the FE/HE sector.

Remuneration: Grade 7 of the College’s London Pay Scale which is starting rate £56.93 per hour (inclusive of holiday pay) for contact hours worked.
