Overview
Biography
Matthew Longo is a Professor of Cognitive Neuroscience in the Department of Psychological Sciences. Matt completed his BA degree in Cognitive Science at the University of California, Berkeley in 2000, and his PhD in Psychology at the University of Chicago in 2006. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience at University College London from 2006 to 2010, when he joined Birkbeck.
Matt is the director of the Body Representation Laboratory. His research uses a range of methods from perceptual psychophysics and cognitive neuroscience to investigate the psychological and neural bases of our experience and mental representation of our bodies and how this shapes our perception of the world.
